Uttarakhand: Meeting of drafting committee related to land law under the chairmanship of ACS Radha Raturi, suggestions related to land law sought from District Magistrates

Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has instructed all the District Magistrates to immediately send the information about the land permitted for agriculture and horticulture from the DM level in the last ten years to the Revenue Department. Along with this, ACS Radha Raturi has clarified that the main objective of the government regarding the proposed land law is to protect the interests of the original inhabitants of Uttarakhand and to provide them justice. Along with this, the aim of this law is to encourage reliable investors to invest and create employment in Uttarakhand and to simplify the investment process.

Radha Raturi has also made it clear to the District Magistrates that the purpose of the law related to temporary ban on land permission for agriculture and horticulture is to stop misuse of land and to make the land law more rational and just. Its aim is not to discourage industrial activities and investment. He has instructed the District Magistrates to immediately remove various misconceptions or doubts spread among investors regarding the law related to temporary ban on land permission for agriculture and horticulture through various means.

During the meeting, ACS Raturi has given instructions that verification of investment applicants in the state should be ensured by the concerned departments with full promptness. Along with checking the credibility of investors by the concerned departments, it is necessary to simplify the process of investment by the entire system so that more and more investors can be encouraged to set up enterprises in the state and create employment.

DGP Abhinav Kumar, Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, Vinay Shankar Pandey, Deependra Kumar Choudhary, District Magistrates of all the districts and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.

ACS Radha Raturi gave a deadline of 15 days to prepare the website and portal of Uttarakhand Migrant Cell.

Along with this, ACS has also given instructions to present the accurate data base of migrants of Uttarakhand origin living in the country and around the world. He informed that soon as per the vision of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the tradition of celebrating Pravasi Uttarakhand Day will be started every year in the state. While taking a meeting in the Secretariat regarding completing the formalities of formation of Uttarakhand Migrant Cell as soon as possible, ACS Radha Raturi instructed the officers associated with Uttarakhand Migrant Cell to register the migrants on the website to be launched for migrants of Uttarakhand origin. Facility should be provided and a system should be developed to resolve their complaints on the website itself. For the formation of Uttarakhand Migrant Cell, ACS gave instructions to prepare a concrete action plan for Uttarakhand and decide the focus area after comparative study of migrant cells of other states. Radha Raturi has directed that arrangements should also be made in the Uttarakhand Migrant Cell for redressal of land related and other issues and complaints of migrants of Uttarakhand origin.

In today’s meeting, regarding the deployment of officers and personnel in the office of Uttarakhand Migrant Cell, taking cooperation from organizations, associations and institutions of Uttarakhand migrants in various states, cities of the country and abroad for preparing a data base regarding migrants of Uttarakhand origin. Decisions were taken.

ACS Radha Raturi said that Uttarakhand Overseas Cell will act as a bridge connecting the people of Uttarakhand origin living across the world with their roots. Along with this, this cell will help in quick action on investment proposals of migrants, resolution of their problems and better coordination between the government and migrants.

Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, Vinay Shankar Pandey, Director General SIDCUL Rohit Meena, member Sudhir Nautiyal and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
