Uttarakhand Assembly session will start from February 5, big announcement may be made on UCC

The session of Uttarakhand Assembly is going to be convened on February 5 at 11 am in the Assembly building in Dehradun. Assembly Speaker Ritu Bhushan Khanduri has issued orders regarding the assembly session. The one-day assembly session going to be held on 5th February is going to be very special in many ways. Because the main reason for calling this session is that the draft of the Uniform Civil Code will be placed on the table of the House. After passing which, it is expected that the way will be cleared for the implementation of UCC law in the state of Uttarakhand. The Dhami government has extended the tenure of the UCC committee for the next 15 days.
It should be noted that according to CM Dhami, the expert committee constituted for UCC has almost prepared the draft of UCC. The tenure has been extended for 15 days for its compilation and completion of some formalities. Along with placing the UCC proposal on the table of the House, the bill related to giving 10 percent horizontal reservation in government jobs to Uttarakhand state agitators will also be passed in the House. A bill related to giving four percent reservation in government jobs to players who win medals in national and international games will be passed. Also, the proposal related to repeal of Business Association (Uttarakhand Amendment) Bill, 2020 will be placed on the table of the House. Apart from this, other important proposals including annual reports of some other departments can also be placed on the table of the House.
In fact, regarding the implementation of Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state of Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has already said that the UCC will be passed by calling a one-day session only after receiving the report of the expert committee constituted for the UCC. will be given. In this sequence, during the first cabinet meeting held in the year 2024, the cabinet had authorized Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to call a special session. Due to which now Assembly Speaker Ritu Bhushan Khanduri has issued orders regarding calling the assembly session.
