Uttarakhand: Tricolor hoisted for the first time after independence, slogans of Hindustan Zindabad echoed in Piran Kaliyar Dargah
On the auspicious occasion of Republic Day, for the first time after independence, the tricolor was hoisted at the world famous Muslim religious place Piran Kaliyar Sharif located in Roorkee, Uttarakhand. During this, Uttarakhand Waqf Board Chairman Shadab Shams also raised slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Hindustan Zindabad.
Tricolor hoisted for the first time in Piran Kaliyar
The national flag was hoisted on Friday on the occasion of Republic Day at the world famous Muslim religious place Piran Kaliyar Sharif. This happened for the first time in Piran Kaliyar when the tricolor was hoisted here. During this, Uttarakhand Waqf Board Chairman Shadab Shams raised patriotic slogans. Due to which the entire Dargah echoed.
The national flag was not hoisted at the Dargah for 75 years
Uttarakhand Waqf Board Chairman Shadab Shams said that when I came to know that the national flag has not been hoisted at Piran Kaliyar for 75 years. After which I thought why don’t we start this practice and give a positive message to the entire society. Along with this he said that I am very happy to hoist the national flag at Piran Kaliyar.
Dargah is equally revered by Hindu and Muslim communities
Let us tell you that Piran Kalyari is the 13th century shrine of Sufi saint Alauddin Ali Ahmed Sabir Kalyari of Sharif Chishti sect. He is also known as Sarkar Sabir Pak and Sabir Kaliyari. It is situated on the banks of Ganga, seven kilometers away from Roorkee, Haridwar. Piran Kaliyar is among the most revered pilgrimage sites for Muslims in India. But at the same time it is equally revered by Hindu and Muslim communities.
