India registered a big win against England
India ‘A’, on the basis of its excellent all-round game, registered an innings and 16-run win over England Lions in the second unofficial Test on Saturday and took an unassailable 1-0 lead in the three-match series. The Indian team bowled out England Lions for 321 runs in the second innings.
The England Lions team started the day with 304 runs for 8 wickets, but in just 5.2 overs, Arshdeep Singh (2/62) and Yash Dayal (1/37) and Ollie Robinson (85) and Tom Laws (32) respectively. ) led India ‘A’ to victory by taking 10 wickets.
Arshdeep and Upendra Yadav wreaked havoc
Arshdeep got Robinson caught by wicketkeeper Upendra Yadav in the 88th over of England’s innings, while Laws added 14 more runs to his score of 18 runs the previous day. Akashdeep caught Dayal’s ball. Sarfaraz Khan was adjudged player of the match for his innings of 161 runs.
Sarfaraz and Devdutt Padikkal’s century
With the help of centuries from Sarfaraz and Devdutt Padikkal (105), India ‘A’ had scored 489 runs in the first innings. Left arm spinner Saurabh Kumar took India ‘A’ to the threshold of victory by taking 5 wickets in the innings for the 22nd time. Akashdeep contributed significantly to the team’s victory by taking a total of 6 wickets.
The first match was a draw
The first unofficial Test of the series ended in a draw. KS Bharat and SAI Sudarshan had performed strongly in that match. Also, Manav Suthar had played a half-century innings. England had set a huge target of 489 runs by declaring at 553/8 in the first innings and 163/6 in the second innings. The last match will be played from 1st February.
