Conspiracy against Mayank Agarwal? Drank poisonous liquid mistaking it for water, case reached police
A sensational revelation has come to light when Indian cricketer Mayank Agarwal fell ill in the plane. Karnataka captain Mayank Agarwal, who was returning with his team after playing a Ranji Trophy match in Agartala, fell ill as soon as he boarded the plane on Tuesday, January 30, after which he was hurriedly admitted to the hospital, where he is in the ICU. Mayank has now shocked everyone in this matter by saying that he had drunk some poisonous liquid by mistake, mistaking it for water. Mayank also told that this liquid was kept on his seat. After this incident, a complaint has been lodged with Agartala Police on Mayank’s behalf.
The Karnataka team was in Agartala for the last few days, where it was facing Tripura in the Ranji Trophy match. After winning this match, Karnataka team was leaving for Surat via Delhi on Tuesday by Indigo Airlines flight, where its next match will be against Railways. All the Karnataka players were sitting in the plane but suddenly Mayank’s health deteriorated. According to the PTI report, Mayank Agarwal drank something from a pouch in the plane, after which he started feeling a burning sensation in his mouth and then he was immediately taken down and taken to the hospital.
The pouch was kept in the seat
Describing the incident, Tripura West SP Kiran Kumar told news agency PTI that when Mayank boarded the plane, a pouch was kept on his seat. Quoting Mayank’s manager, SP Kiran Kumar said that the Karnataka captain drank the liquid kept in this pouch, mistaking it for water. He had only drank a little when his mouth started feeling a burning sensation and then he could not say anything. After this he was taken to ILS Hospital. During this time Mayank’s mouth had become swollen and blisters had formed.
Police will investigate
After this, Mayank’s manager, suspecting a conspiracy in the matter, lodged a complaint with the police for investigation, which was accepted by the police. The police officer said that Mayank’s vitals are normal and he is out of any kind of danger. Tripura’s Health Minister said that the police will investigate the matter and all possible treatment will be provided to Mayank.
Mayank will return to Bengaluru
An official of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) said that Mayank can be brought back to Bengaluru on Wednesday, January 31. He said that as soon as the doctors of Agartala Hospital can give permission till late Tuesday night, after which Mayank will be brought back. He also emphasized that Mayank is completely out of danger. However, now he will not be able to play in the next match against Railways.
Mayank Agarwal, who has been out of Team India for the last 2 years, is performing strongly in the current Ranji season. He scored centuries in two consecutive matches against Gujarat and Goa, while he also played a half-century against Tripura. His team won this match by 29 runs.
