Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said, to promote sports activities in the state and increase educational working days, education, higher education, sports and youth welfare departments will jointly prepare the annual sports calendar. For this, a five-member committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the Director General of School Education.

The committee will provide the prepared draft of the annual sports calendar to the government within a month. In the joint meeting of the Education, Higher Education, Sports and Youth Welfare Departments held at the official residence of the Education Minister, it was unanimously decided that the three departments together will prepare an annual calendar of sports, in which special care will be taken that participation in sports activities There should not be any disruption in the studies of the students doing it.

Will be implemented in the state after testing

Said, interested students can also participate in sports activities. Dr. Rawat said that to prepare the annual joint sports calendar, a joint committee of the three departments has been formed under the chairmanship of Director General School Education Banshidhar Tiwari, in which Director Higher Education, Director School Education, Director Sports and Youth Welfare are included. Member has been nominated.

The joint committee will prepare the draft of the annual sports calendar and make it available to the government. After testing it will be implemented in the state. Told that at present, the implementation of different sports calendars of the three departments creates disruption in the studies of the students, whereas under the provisions of NEP-2020, attendance of each student is required for 220 days. It has become necessary to prepare a joint sports calendar of the three departments.

Sports grounds and mini stadiums will be built in 95 blocks

The Education Minister said, sports grounds and mini stadiums will be built in 95 blocks. Funds for this will be provided by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department. In future, the maintenance of the stadium and arrangements for coaches for many sports will also be made by the sports department. Sports department officials said that till now the construction work of 27 mini stadiums and sports grounds in the state is in the final stage. In the meeting, the departmental minister asked the sports department to provide coaches in the residential schools of the education department also.
