Uttarakhand: Snowfall in Gangotri-Yamunotri

The weather in the state has taken a turn after a month. There was heavy snowfall in the areas around Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham in the early hours of Wednesday. Along with this, it rained in Barkot tehsil area. After which a decline in temperature has been recorded.

After a long time, the weather patterns in the state have changed. There was snowfall in Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham early on Wednesday morning. While on one hand there is snowfall and rain in the mountains, on the other hand it is cloudy at many places in the plains and fog is present at many places.

Drop in temperature due to cold winds
The morning started with mild sunshine in the capital Dehradun including the queen of hills Mussoorie, Dhanaulti and Kemptyfall. But only after that clouds started appearing in these areas. Due to cold winds, a drop in temperature has been recorded at all places.

It will rain in high altitude areas today
Due to lack of rain in the state for a long time, while on one hand the dry cold is troubling the people, on the other hand the farmers are also having to bear its brunt. But the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain and snowfall in the higher reaches of the state on Wednesday.
