Frustrated with the system, the Civil Judge had written a letter to the CJI asking for permission to commit suicide, dead body found hanging
A case of suicide of female judge Jyotsna Rai has come to light in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh. The body of woman judge Jyotsna Rai was found hanging in the government residence on Saturday morning. Police have reportedly said it was suicide.
There was a stir in the police administration after getting information about the suicide of female judge Jyotsna Rai. All the officers including DM-SSP reached the spot. Investigation is being conducted at the incident site.
SP Badaun Alok Priyadarshi said that the police reached the spot. His residence is on the first floor. The doors were locked from inside. It was forced open and his body was found hanging from the ceiling fan. The body has been taken into custody and investigation is being done. He said that some things were found in his documents. All facts will be investigated.

Employees informed the police
The body of Civil Judge Junior Division Jyotsna Rai, resident of Jaji Colony located in the city Kotwali area, was found hanging in a room of her residence. When his court staff did not reach office on time in the morning, his call was not received. When the employees reached the residence there was a lot of noise and knocking but the door did not open. After this, information was given to the police at around 10.30.
Dead body found hanging from fan
When the police broke the door and went inside, the body was found hanging from the fan in the room. A mobile phone was lying nearby and stuff from the other room was also scattered. Kotwali Inspector Vijendra Singh gave the information to SSP Alok Priyadarshi. On this DM Manoj Kumar and SSP Alok Priyadarshi reached the spot.

Forensic team collecting evidence
No one was allowed inside. The forensic team is collecting evidence. It is being told that Jyotsna Rai was suffering from depression for the last few days. A suicide note has been found from his diary. On which the police officers are not saying anything yet. SSP Alok Priyadarshi said that investigation is going on. Civil Judge Junior Division Jyotsna Rai has committed suicide. She is originally from Maui. Information has been given to relatives. Now further action will be taken only after the arrival of the relatives.
Came to Badaun on second posting
Jyotsna Rai had her second posting in Badaun. She came to Badaun in April 2023. Before this she was posted in Ayodhya.
Wrote a letter to CJI for euthanasia
The female civil judge of UP had written a letter to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court demanding her wish to die. The judge had accused his senior judicial officer of physically and mentally torturing him. The judge had written that she is writing this letter in extreme pain and despair.
