Uttar Pradesh: Rape accused in Deoria absconding from custody, police was taking him to court for production

In Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh, a rape accused escaped from police custody, after which there was a stir in the department. The rape accused escaped from the court premises by dodging the police.
The police of Gauri Bazar police station had arrested the accused named Govind Nishad on Thursday and on Friday they took him to the POCSO court to present him in the police court. Seeing the opportunity, the accused fled from there. In this case, Additional SP Deependra Chaudhary said that SOG and other police teams have been deployed and the accused will be arrested soon.
Let us tell you that in Pokharbhinda village of Gauri Bazar police station area, accused Govind Nishad, along with his two friends, had abducted a minor girl from another village on January 5. After this, a case of gangrape, assault and kidnapping was registered on behalf of the victim’s family.
Since then, during the investigation by Gauri Bazar police, the girl was recovered from the house of Govind Nishad. The police was raiding in search of all the accused, during this time Govind Nishad was arrested by Sub Inspector Ram Murat Ram on Thursday.
On Friday, POCSO had taken him to the court to take him on remand where the proceedings were going on. Suddenly the accused escaped from the court premises by dodging the police. There was a stir in the police department after he escaped from police custody.
Police were seen running in the court premises, but the accused could not be found anywhere. The police kept raiding the whole night but Govind was still not caught by the police. In this case, the guilty policemen may also be punished.
Additional SP Deependra Chaudhary said that the police had taken the rape accused to present him in the court from where he escaped. Investigation is being done and several teams have been deployed.
