Uttarakhand: Harish Rawat took a U-turn on the demand of giving ticket to his son, reacted on India Alliance and UCC

Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat, who had expressed his desire to have his son contest elections from Haridwar Lok Sabha seat of Uttarakhand, has taken a U-turn. Harish Rawat says that there are obstacles in front of his son getting the ticket. Harish Rawat has placed the chance of his son getting a ticket at the third place. At the same time, Harish Rawat, while holding a press conference in the Press Club of Haridwar, expressed his views on the exploitation of workers in India Alliance, Nitish Kumar, Ram Mandir, Uttarakhand UCC and SIDCUL.

Three obstacles before getting the ticket

Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat said that his son would face three obstacles if he gets the ticket. Harish Rawat said that the first hurdle is that if any of those who have supported me wants to contest elections, then he has the first right. The second obstacle is that only my son can contest the election on whose name my colleagues agree and the third obstacle is that within the party there are our foursome (Karan Mahara, Yashpal Arya, Pritam Singh and Ganesh Godiyal). Only if these four agree will he be able to contest the elections.

Will go hiking

Harish Rawat today announced a march in SIDCUL against the exploitation of SIDCUL workers. At the same time, BPL ration card holders have also announced to stage a protest at the DSO office in case they do not get the cards. Harish Rawat said that workers are being continuously harassed in Sidcul area. Industries are closing. Partial layoffs are taking place. Not getting full salary. We will march against this. Harish Rawat said that there are more than 30 thousand people with BPL cards in the state whose cards were taken away about 5 years ago. There is no trace of his cards. No one is asking them. They are not important electorally. I have decided that after 10 days I will sit on strike at the DSO office.

The country will win under the leadership of Mamata

On Nitish Kumar’s departure from India alliance and Mamata Banerjee challenging Congress to win from Banaras, Harish Rawat says that the alliance will not only last but will also become stronger. The alliance will bring change in 2024 and we will form the government. The country will win under the leadership of Mamta ji.

Tokerism of UCC Center

Regarding UCC, Harish Rawat said that it is tokenism. Tokenism of the Central Government and the Center made a law from Uttarakhand. This law has no existence outside the borders of Uttarakhand. This Uniform Civil Code is an insult to the spirit of our Constitution. Harish Rawat raised the demand to make the UCC draft public. He said that with this, political parties and social organizations can discuss the merits and demerits of the draft from their point of view.

BJP does politics of religion

On raising the demand of Mathura and Kashi after Ram Mandir, Harish Rawat said that Ram is faith for us. We are the people who praise Maryada Purushottam Ramchandra. Like BJP, we neither do politics in the name of Ram ji nor do we do politics in the name of temple-religion. We have faith in our respective religions. We want that politics and the country should be run religiously. He said that incidents of terrorism and violence are increasing in Kashmir. Our soldiers are being killed. There is no discussion on that. BJP has religion only for discussion.
