PM Modi remained stuck on Congress in his 90 minute speech

After the Lok Sabha, now in the Rajya Sabha also, Prime Minister Narendra Modi fiercely attacked the opposition party Congress. During the motion of thanks on the President’s address, PM Modi cornered Congress on every front. From former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to current Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, he did not spare anyone. Taunted Rahul Gandhi by calling him ‘Yuvraj’ without taking his name. PM Modi said that the party has made its crown prince a startup. He is not a starter but a non-starter. They are neither being lifted nor launched. In his address of about one and a half hour in the Rajya Sabha, Prime Minister Modi seemed to have shown the final trailer of his attack on Congress in the Lok Sabha elections.

PM Modi said that he has feelings about the decline and fall of the party which was in power in the country for so long after independence. He will ‘pray’ to save 40 seats in the next general elections. While replying to the motion of thanks on the President’s address in the Rajya Sabha, the Prime Minister also accused the Congress of dividing the country into North and South. He claimed that Congress has been opposed to ‘inborn’ reservation.

Citing a statement by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the Prime Minister said that he would pray that Congress saves only 40 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The Trinamool chief said that Congress would not be able to win even 40 seats in the general elections. He said that the thinking of Congress has also become ‘outdated’. When its thinking has become ‘outdated’, it has also ‘outsourced’ its work. Such an old party, such a decline in no time… such a decline of the party that ruled the country for so many decades… we are not happy. Our condolences to you.

PM Modi further said, ‘The Congress which openly strangled democracy in its greed for power. The Congress which had dismissed democratically elected governments dozens of times overnight. The Congress, which had tried to lock newspapers, has now started creating a narrative to break the country. Now statements are being made to divide the country into North-South.

The Prime Minister said that the Congress never gave full reservation to the Other Backward Classes (OBC). Who never gave reservation to the poor of general category. The one who did not consider Baba Saheb worthy of Bharat Ratna and kept giving Bharat Ratna only to his family, is now preaching to us. He is now teaching us the lesson of social justice. Congress, which does not have any guarantee for its leader, is raising questions on Modi’s guarantee.

PM Modi said that I want to express my special gratitude to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. Without naming anyone, he said that sometimes one gets a chance for entertainment in the Lok Sabha. But nowadays he gets less because he is on other duty. But the lack of entertainment in the Lok Sabha was fulfilled by you (Kharge). Modi said that Kharge has blessed the National Democratic Alliance to get 400 seats and if he wants, he can now withdraw this blessing.

Prime Minister Modi claimed that the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru used to say that if Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) got reservation in jobs, the level of government work would fall. Once Nehru ji had written a letter to the Chief Ministers, in which it was written that ‘I do not like any reservation and especially not reservation in jobs. I am against any such step which promotes inefficiency, which leads to second-rate standards. PM Modi said that on this basis he says that Congress is a ‘born opponent of reservation’.

PM Modi said that those who accuse the Central Government of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) should first tell who had ruined MTNL, BSNL, Air India. Rumors were also spread about LIC, ‘But LIC shares are trending at record levels today.’ He said that there were 234 PSUs in the country in 2014 but today there are 254 PSUs. Today most of the PSUs are giving record returns and investor confidence in them is increasing. The PSU index has doubled in the last two years. He said that before 10 years the gross profit of PSU was around Rs 1.25 lakh crore but in the last ten years it has been Rs 2.5 lakh crore.

On being interrupted by the opposition members during the Prime Minister’s address, Modi said that he has been listening to his every word with great patience and humility. But even today you have come prepared not to listen. But the opposition cannot suppress my voice. The people of the country have given strength to this voice, that is why I have also come fully prepared this time. Earlier, when the Prime Minister reached the Rajya Sabha, the members of the ruling party welcomed him by standing up and thumping the tables. During this, some members also raised slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’.
