Uttarakhand: ‘There is no conflict between Quran and Constitution, live-in is a crime’, said BSP MLA Shehzad in the Assembly

During the proceedings of the Assembly House, the opposition leaders have demanded that the UCC Bill should not be passed but it should be handed over to the Select Committee to remove the shortcomings in it. During the discussion on the UCC Bill, Bahujan Samaj Party MLA Shahzad raised questions on all the provisions made in the UCC. Taking a jibe at the government, the BSP MLA said that Lord Ram does not belong to anyone but to the whole of India. He said that the government wants that no one else should take the name of Lord Ram except him. He said that UCC law should come but it should come in full.
There is no conflict between Quran and Constitution – Shahzad
BSP MLA said that there is no conflict between Quran and Constitution. The Constitution gives us the right to live according to our religion. The MLA has expressed apprehension that after the introduction of this law, the gap between men and women will also increase in future. The Muslims of India are Sunni Muslims. They believe that they have converted from SC. They became Muslims only because of untouchability and oppression. He also said that religious conversion cannot happen due to fear. Under pressure, he will remain in the new religion for a few days, but after some time he will start following his old religion.
Government should take over all schools and hospitals
Bahujan Samaj Party MLA Shahzad said that the government should take over all the schools and hospitals of the state. So that everyone can get equal facilities. Only then will there be equal civil protection law for all. Chairman of Uttarakhand Waqf Board is saying that he will teach Ramcharitmanas in madrassas. How will they teach? For this they are saying that they are building a modern madrassa, but how they will build a modern madrassa without money is a big question. If Uttarakhand government is keeping the concept of developed nation then medical and education should be free.
A provision of law regarding live-in relationship has been made in the Uniform Civil Code. Under which people living in live-in relationship will have to register. He said that live in relationship is a crime. He said that people have more children in areas where the standard of living is low. In such a situation, the government should improve the condition of the people living at low level. Shahzad said that the Uttarakhand government will pass the Uniform Civil Code, but according to all the suggestions given during the discussion in the House, the UCC Bill should be handed over to the Select Committee to improve the Uniform Civil Code.
