Uttarakhand: Ban on English liquor and beer in wedding banquets

After the Mahapanchayat against drug addiction in Kalsi of Jaunsar Bawar, now the trend of anti-drug panchayats has intensified at village levels also. Late on Friday night, an open meeting of villagers of three villages Bangoti, Bandrah and Timra under Gram Panchayat Buraswa was held.

After unanimous discussion in the Panchayat held under the chairmanship of Village Sayana Atar Singh Chauhan and Village Head Sushila Rawat, many complex rules were made against drug sellers and drug addicts. In which it was decided unanimously that a complete ban was imposed on the consumption of dry intoxicants like cannabis, charas, smack etc. inside the village. Besides, there was a ban on buying and selling of dry intoxicants and selling and buying of raw liquor was completely stopped.

English liquor and beer will be completely banned in wedding banquets. Apart from this, hawkers have been prohibited from entering the village. Apart from this, outsiders will not be allowed to do business in the village and the villagers will have to strictly follow these rules.

If rules are violated by villagers then social punishment will be passed. In which a social penalty of Rs 51 thousand will be imposed on the person selling liquor and other intoxicants and Rs 21 thousand on the person buying liquor and other intoxicants.

Apart from this, a reward of Rs 1100 will be given to the person who informs the name of the person guilty of violating the rules to the village head and the village head. Anyone who abuses while intoxicated in the village will have to face a fine of Rs 11,000. Narayan Singh, Narendra Singh, Ramesh, Sultan, Genda Das, Sajju Guddu, Roshan, Bhopal, Pyarinath etc. were present on this occasion.
