Government’s first attempt to restore peace
Meanwhile, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi also gave information on the latest situation in Haldwani. He told that after reaching Haldwani he held a meeting with the officials. The first effort of the government is to restore peace. The situation in Haldwani will be normalized as soon as possible. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has appealed to the people through the media not to spread any kind of rumour.
Why did Haldwani burn?
Let us tell you that on Thursday, a joint team of Administration and Municipal Corporation Haldwani had reached ‘Malik Ka Bagicha’ area in Banbhulpura police station area to demolish the illegal madrassa and religious place. As soon as the joint team started demolishing the illegal building, the local people started pelting stones at the administration and Municipal Corporation Haldwani team.
Miscreants had tried to burn the police station
Nainital District Magistrate Vandana Singh said that the police team present on the spot tried to convince the people, but they were not ready to listen to anyone, after which the situation there kept worsening. According to Nainital District Magistrate Vandana Singh, the miscreants surrounded the Banbhulpura police station and tried to set it on fire there too. The miscreants also set fire to the vehicles parked outside the police station.
Curfew still in force in the city
Apart from this, miscreants also set fire at many other places in the area, due to which the atmosphere of the city became tense. After this, on Thursday evening itself, the administration imposed curfew in Banbhulpura police station area of Haldwani and ordered to shoot the miscreants on sight.
More than 70 vehicles burnt in Haldwani violence, recovery will be done from miscreants, Dhami government will run on Yogi model
The rioters who created ruckus on Thursday in Vanbhulpura area of Haldwani, the largest city of Nainital district, are no longer safe. Dhami government is going to deal with these miscreants under the Yogi model of Uttar Pradesh.
Recovery is made from those who damage property in UP
In fact, in September 2022, the Yogi Adityanath government of UP had passed the Uttar Pradesh Public and Private Property Damage Recovery (Amendment) Bill- 2022. In this amendment bill, there is a provision to recover the compensation amount from the guilty person in case of death of a person or damage to property due to riots. Now the Dhami government of Uttarakhand is also going to work on similar lines.
Loss will be recovered from the miscreants of Haldwani
On Thursday, there was violence in Haldwani and a large number of miscreants setting government and private vehicles on fire. The miscreants set fire to more than 70 vehicles. These include police vehicles, vehicles of journalists and vehicles of common people. If all these losses are assessed, their value will be in crores. When Nainital SSP held a press conference on Friday, he told that 4 miscreants have been arrested. 15 to 20 master minds who instigated the disturbance have been identified. Along with taking strict legal action against such people, the SSP said another big thing. He said that the cost of the property damaged by the miscreants will be recovered from them. In such a situation, it is clear that now crores of rupees will be recovered from those who create and instigate violence and cause damage to vehicles, this will be an example for those who have intentions of creating violence along with them.
Dhami government will adopt Yogi model against miscreants
Ever since the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has adopted this policy in UP, riots have stopped there. Now those who create riots or disturbances in UP have to think ten times that if they cause damage to government or private properties, then they will have to compensate for the same. In such a situation, those who create riots and mischief in UP are now on the back foot. If this model of Yogi government of UP is adopted after the Haldwani violence in Uttarakhand, then the miscreants will think twice before doing so.
