Uttarakhand: Detailed calendar released for voter awareness and sweep activities, Chief Electoral Officer said – Social media should be used extensively for voter awareness
Regarding strengthening the campaign and social media system for voting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Chief Electoral Officer Dr. B.V.R.C. Purushottam took a review meeting of all the districts through video conferencing.
In the meeting, Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Purushottam said that social media has special importance in the upcoming elections. Social media is a wide means of publicity which can be used for voter awareness and sweep activities. The Chief Electoral Officer said that social media monitoring is also very important in view of the elections. He has instructed the SSP and SP of the entire district that the police department should also do the work of social media monitoring promptly.
In the review meeting, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Namami Bansal gave a detailed presentation regarding strengthening the social media system. The Joint Chief Electoral Officer gave information regarding carrying forward the sweep activities as per the social media calendar for wide publicity of social media at the district level. He said that voter awareness campaigns should be conducted using new ideas and best practices on various platforms for election awareness.
Joint Chief Electoral Officer Pratap Shah along with District Election Officers of all the districts, Police Captain, Deputy District Election Officer, Sweep Nodal Officer and nodal officers of media and social media were present in the meeting.
