Subramanian Swamy raised questions on the use of drones against farmers, called it a violation of human rights

Police are firing tear gas shells from drones to stop the farmers marching to Delhi, on which senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy expressed displeasure. He has called it a violation of human rights. Swamy gave this information on X. He wrote, ‘Is the Modi government using drones against the protesting farmers of Punjab? If so, it would be a violation of the United Nations Human Rights Charter.

For the first time, tear gas shells were fired on farmers from drones

Farmers of Punjab had raised the slogan of ‘Dilli Chalo’ on 13 February. They crossed the Ambala Highway and as soon as they reached the Shambhu border of Punjab-Haryana, the police started showing force. During this, rubber bullets were fired and tear gas from drones to disperse the crowd of farmers. Shells were fired. This kind of experiment was done on farmers for the first time.

This is not the first time that Swamy has raised questions on the BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Earlier, Swamy had directly cornered the Prime Minister on many issues including China. In September last year, he had claimed that China had grabbed 4,067 square kilometers of land in Ladakh. In this matter, he had talked about going to the Supreme Court against the Central Government. Apart from this, he also surrounds the Prime Minister regarding Ram Setu.
