Uttar Pradesh / Agra: Monkey turned killer; Woman attacked and thrown from roof, died on the spot

Once again a mischievous and aggressive monkey took the life of a human being in Tajnagari. Woman fell from two-storey roof due to monkey attack. He died on the spot due to serious head injury. Seeing the dead body of the woman, the family members screamed. The attacking monkey snatched the mother’s shadow from the daughters’ heads.
Local people say that there is terror of monkeys in the area. Every day a group of monkeys attacks someone or the other. Even after complaint the problem still remains. The matter is of Monday afternoon.
Mahendra Singh’s house is in Chanda Wali Gali near the house of Agra North Assembly constituency MLA Purushottam Khandelwal. Mahendra Singh’s wife Chandravati alias Chanda was drying clothes on the terrace of her two-storey house. Then suddenly a group of monkeys arrived.
A ferocious monkey attacked Chandravati. When Chandravati raised an alarm and tried to escape from the monkey’s attack, she fell down from the two-storey roof.
Due to which there was shouting. The family members immediately took Chandravati to a nearby hospital in a bloody condition. Where the doctors declared him dead.
Monkey attack incidents
- In 2018, a monkey had snatched a child from its mother’s lap in Runkata and ran away. In which the child had died.
- In 2019, Harishankar Goyal of Maithan also died due to monkey attack.
- In 2020, three people died due to monkey attacks.
- In 2022, four deaths were caused by monkey attacks.
Chandravati has four daughters and one son. In which two daughters are - unmarried. There is anger in the entire area after the news of Chandravati’s death in monkey attack. Angry people reached the street near the MLA’s house in Bhainro Bazaar.
Former councilor Manoj Soni said that the Municipal Corporation is being negligent in catching monkeys. In the past too, many women have died in monkey attacks. Due to the terror of monkeys, houses in the old city have become cages.
There is terror of monkeys in Belanganj, Bhainro Bazaar, Rawatpada, Daresi, Chhatta, Motiganj, Hospital Road, Moti Katra, Noori Gate, Kinari Bazaar, Ghatiya Azam Khan and Yamuna Kinara Road of the city. Due to which people have installed nets on their houses. Due to which houses have turned into cages.
There has been an uproar in the Municipal Corporation House in Agra regarding monkey menace. The issue of monkeys has been raised many times in the Corporation House. Councilor Ravi Mathur says that there has been demand many times to run a campaign against monkeys. There have also been many deaths in the city.
The Municipal Corporation’s campaign and figures are on paper. Whereas, in the Municipal Corporation’s campaign so far, the figures of 13181 monkeys have been caught and 6895 monkeys have been sterilized. Six proposals were made for monkeys in the Corporation House.
