Here a swindler pretending to be Union Home Minister Amit Shah called the former MLA. He said on the phone that if you want a ticket for the Lok Sabha elections, then send the money. The former MLA was somewhat upset and he informed the police. Police started investigation. The police have now detained one person in this case.

Regarding this matter, Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural Area) Mukesh Chandra Mishra said that a case has been registered on behalf of Inspector Vinod Kumar in Nawabganj police station of Bareilly. It has been said that members of a gang, posing as Union Home Minister Amit Shah, cheat politicians over phone in the name of getting them tickets. He said that investigation has revealed that Ravindra Maurya, a resident of Groupa village of Nawabganj police station area, talked to former MLA Kishan Lal Rajput on phone nine times on January 4 and January 20, 2024.
The accused broke the SIM as soon as the investigation started
He told that he spoke to him impersonating Union Home Minister Amit Shah and tried to extort money from the former MLA by luring him with a ticket. On checking the number on True Caller app, the ID was visible in the name of Union Home Minister, Central Government. Mishra says that when Ravindra Maurya came to know that the police was investigating, he broke the SIM. He told that the number from which the call was made to the former MLA is registered on the ID of a person named Harish from Ravindra’s village.
Police searching for two accused
He told that Harish has been taken into custody in this case. During interrogation, he told the police that he had purchased this SIM on his ID on December 29, 2023. After some time, Ravindra Maurya and Shahid of the village threatened him and snatched the SIM. Mishra said that the police is searching for Ravindra and Shahid. He said that if anyone receives such a fraudulent call, he should immediately contact the police.
