Ban on strike in UP for six months, violation will lead to arrest without warrant

In view of the farmers’ movement, the Yogi government has taken a big decision. Strike has been banned in Uttar Pradesh for six months. If any employee is found on strike or protesting, he will be arrested without warrant. This order will be applicable to government departments, corporations and authorities under the state government. Additional Chief Secretary Personnel Dr. Devesh Chaturved has issued a notification in this regard.
A notification was issued by the government stating that after the enactment of the ESMA Act, if any employee goes on strike or protest, he will be arrested without warrant in case of violation of the Act. Earlier, the Yogi government had banned the strike for six months in 2023. Then the government had taken the decision due to the electricity department employees going on strike.
ESMA is used when employees go on strike. It is used to prevent a strike. Farmers are on the streets with various demands. UP-Delhi border farmers and security personnel are face to face. Earlier in 2020 also there was a farmer movement. Then this movement lasted for more than a year.
