Uttarakhand: Final notice to vacate residence to 40 employees dismissed from assembly

The State Property Department has issued the final notice to vacate the government accommodation to 40 employees dismissed in the case of illegal recruitment in Uttarakhand Assembly. Under Section 5 of the Eviction Act (PP Act), they have been asked to vacate the house by March 7 under any circumstances. After this they will be forcibly evicted.

Dinesh Pratap Singh, the designated officer of the State Property Department, said, under Section 4 of the PP Act, all 40 dismissed employees were earlier given notice to vacate their residence from the government colony located in Kedarpuram. After listening to everyone’s side, now eviction notice has been given under Section 5. They were told to vacate the houses given by the State Property Department at any cost by March 7.

A warning has also been given to take action against those who do not do so. It was made clear in the notice that if the house is not vacated by the due date, eviction action will be taken. Besides, rent will also be charged at market rate. Except for three months after his dismissal from the Assembly, the rent for the remaining period will have to be paid at market rate.

Separate notices have been issued to all the dismissed employees. It is noteworthy that after the issue of recruitment against the rules came to light, Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan had given instructions to dismiss more than 228 employees. These were the employees who were appointed on ad-hoc basis from 2016 to 2021.
