Navalny, 47, collapsed and died on Friday afternoon during a walk at the Polar Wolf penal colony, 1,900 km north-east of Moscow. It is considered one of the most dangerous prisons. He was serving his sentence here. An employee there had informed about taking Navleen to the nearby city of Salekhard. But there was no dead body present there. The family has demanded handing over the body.
People across the country protested against Navalny’s death
Protests are being expressed across the country regarding this. At least 340 people have been detained in this regard. Most arrests on Saturday took place in St. Petersburg and Moscow. People were raising slogans of shame. Hours after Navalny’s death was reported, his wife Yulia appeared at a security conference in Germany, where many world leaders had gathered. She said that if this is true, then I want Putin and the people around him to know that they will be responsible for what they did to my country, family and husband.
