India’s first cable based railway bridge is completely ready. This bridge of Jammu and Kashmir is the highest railway bridge in the world. Northern Railway officials said that trains will run at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour on this bridge being built about 80 kilometers away from Jammu.
Built at a height of 359 meters
The world’s highest railway bridge spans the Chenab River at a height of 359 meters (1,178 ft) above the river.

Chenab Bridge is the first bridge in the country to be designed for blast load. Even 30 kg of explosives cannot do anything to it.

This arch bridge can remain standing even after an earthquake of 8 reactor scale intensity. More than Rs 35000 crore has been spent in this project.
