MOU signed between House of Himalaya Company and Women on Wings
An MoU has been signed between House of Himalaya Company and Women on Wings to give a new identity to the products of the state and to create livelihood and increase employment.
Business plan will be developed for marketing
Uttarakhand Gramya Vikas Samiti has signed a non-financial MoU with Women on Wings for the purpose of assistance in developing a business plan for branding and marketing of House of Himalaya. According to which, Women on Wings will help in preparing SOP for the operation of House of Himalaya company and establishing the House of Himalaya brand as a scalable and sustainable brand.
Along with this, Women on Wings will help House of Himalaya Company in business strategy, branding, marketing, product pricing, positioning, supply chain building, capacity building of human resources etc. and in creating sustainable livelihood of women producers.
Netherlands based NGO Women on Wings
Women on Wings is a Netherlands based non-governmental organization. Which has been working since 2007 in the field of creating sustainable livelihood and increasing employment of women in rural areas. At present the said organization is working with more than 50 social enterprises across India and state institutions of Maharashtra and Jharkhand.
Pahari products are getting a new identity
Under the concept of ‘Vocal for Local’, the government has launched the ‘House of Himalaya’ brand to give a new identity to the hill products. With this, on one hand, farmers are getting a local market for their grains and mountain products, while on the other hand, consumers are getting nutritious products made from coarse grains through bakery products.
Pahari products are getting a new identity from the House of Himalaya. This initiative of the Rural Development Department was greatly appreciated by the Chief Secretary, Government of Uttarakhand and has directed that immediate action should be taken regarding the opening of the website and store of House of Himalaya.
