Uttarakhand: Ten litterateurs received Sahitya Gaurav Samman, honored by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami

In honor of the litterateurs of Uttarakhand, ‘Uttarakhand Sahitya Gaurav Samman’ ceremony was organized by the Language Institute in Dehradun. During the felicitation ceremony, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami honored 10 litterateurs of the state on Wednesday. Litterates were honored in different categories. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami honored the writers with a check of Rs 1 lakh and a citation.

Litterateur Professor Laxman Singh Bisht ‘Batrohi’ was honored with Sumitranandan Pant Sahitya Gaurav Samman, Dr. Sushil Upadhyay was honored with Shailesh Matiyani Award, Devkinandan Bhatt (Mayank) was honored with Gumani Pant Award. In this sequence, Bhajan Singh Award was given to Girish Sundriyal, Govind Chatak Award was given to Dr. Suresh Mamgain, KA Khan was given Prof. Unwan Chishti Award, Teacher Purna Singh Award to Prem Sahil, Prof. Shailey was honored with the Mahadevi Verma Award, Dr. Lalit Mohan Pant with the Dr. Pitambar Dutt Barthwal Award, and Ganesh Khugshal ‘Gani’ with the Bhairav Dutt Dhulia Award.
Language Minister Subodh Uniyal said that the main objective of starting the Language Institute was to promote the dialects of the state. Also, work should be done for its upliftment. Along with this, the new generation should also not stay away from dialects and languages. Rather, along with being a carrier of our culture, we should serve the country through literature and poetry. In such a situation, the Language Institute has moved forward in this direction for the last two years. ‘Sahitya Gaurav Samman’ was started for all the dialects in the state. Under this honour, selected litterateurs are honored with Rs 1 lakh each. This honor inspires the youth. Because literature and poems not only work to give direction to the society. But it also exposes the evils of the society.
