Uttar Pradesh / Deoria: Land traders sold the road, city dwellers are suffering pain
Photo Road disputes have increased in the Municipal Council area, the road is shown in the map, but the land along the road has also been registered.
Deoria. Land traders have created a big problem in the Deoria Municipal Council area which is taking shape as a big city. The result of wrong way of registering road land in plotting is that road disputes are increasing.
The people who came from villages and settled in the cities first built luxurious buildings. But, four wheelers are not able to reach their door. People are complaining about the road and hostility towards neighbors is also increasing. Officials of the Revenue Department and Municipal Council also seem to be troubled by the problems on the road. The administration is taking action on road complaints. But, in the complaints that have been received, the administration has been able to find a solution in very few cases.
The land traders have sold the land along the route, while the Urban Development Agency has also not fulfilled the responsibility of following the map. There is a path on paper, but a wall has been erected on the spot. In most of the registries, a condition was written for those building houses on two plots to leave six feet of road. This is also shown in the map, whereas the land along the way has been left by the buyers as per their convenience.
Where 12 feet of land has been left for the path, after installing drains and electric poles, about 8-9 feet of space is left. Two vehicles cannot pass through it simultaneously. Along with this, the second problem is that one side has left six feet of space while the other side has left only two or four feet of space.
The advocate said that after plotting, the land on the route in the map should be dedicated to the Municipal Council, even if the price of the land on the route has been taken by the buyer from the remaining land. Municipal Council’s JE Nirman Pooja Shukla said that there are more road disputes in the city. He resolved a road dispute on Wednesday itself.
Advocate Ashish Dixit, resident of Ramnath Deoria, said that most of the roads in the entire city are only 12 feet wide. Showing the drain, he said that within 12 feet there are also roads, stairs of people’s houses and electric poles. In such a situation, if a two-wheeler is parked near someone’s house, it becomes difficult for the four-wheeler to get out. The population has become dense. Drain capacity has reduced. Due to this, when water comes out from the houses, drain water starts flowing on the road. There is a need to build underground drains in the city, while there should be no encroachment on the roads.
I left the village and came to the city, but now I feel that the village itself was better. People have bought land and built houses in the entire city, but there is a big problem of roads.

Look at the map and the route too
Retired post master Vidyadhar Mishra, living in Ramnath Deoria, showed the map that where there is a 30 feet path in the map, four wheelers cannot pass there. If the map is followed by the Urban Development Agency, the road does not get closed.
The cost of his house in the city will be around Rs 2 crore. But, the daughter-in-law has to walk home. If relatives come by four-wheeler, they are not able to reach home. Could not find the way for 15 years. The village house is on the side of the road.
-Phool Kumari Devi, Ramnath Deoria
Not only Ramnath Deoria, there is a big problem of roads in the entire city. When I built the house, I left six and a half feet of space, whereas my neighbor left only two and a half feet of space. The administration should take strict action against those who plot land.
-Ramdayal Yadav, Ward No. 28
The work of a CC road in the ward was halted due to a dispute over leaving less and sufficient land for the road. Somehow a compromise was reached. That too the road is only eight feet. I left the path six feet, but the neighbor faced problems due to less space left.
-Babita Mishra, Ward No. 28
Road disputes are being resolved in the city. If the road has not been left as per the map or if there is encroachment on the road due to a house built without a map, then people should complain. Action will be taken after investigation.
