Uttarakhand: Snow has been falling in Badrinath for four days, snow accumulated up to five feet.
The weather pattern has changed in the state for the last several days. There is heavy snowfall in the high altitude areas including Chardham. It has been snowing in Badrinath Dham for the last four days. The temple is covered with a white blanket of snow. The views of which are worth seeing. You won’t be able to take your eyes off the captivating views.
Intermittent snowfall in Badrinath for four days
It has been snowing intermittently for four days. Due to which up to five feet of snow has accumulated in the Dham. Due to continuous snowfall, it is extremely cold in the Dham. While on one hand snowfall is continuing in the higher reaches of the district, on the other hand the lower areas are experiencing severe cold due to rain.
Heavy snowfall in Neeti Valley, Valley of Flowers also
Along with Badrinath Dham, there is heavy snowfall in other places including Valley of Flowers, Hemkund Sahib, Niti Valley, Nizmula Valley, Rudranath, Lal Mati, Nanda Ghunghati, Auli, Gorson Bugyal. Let us tell you that at present only ITBP, Police and BKTC employees are present in Badrinath Dham.
Badrinath Highway closed beyond Hanuman Chatti
After continuous rain in the surrounding areas including Gopeshwar, Nandanagar, Pipalkoti, Joshimath, snowfall started in the higher reaches of Nandanagar. Light snowfall occurred in villages like Sutol, Kanol, tourist village Ramni, Padergaon, Ghuni etc.
Along with this, there was light snowfall in the villages of Nijmula valley also. Due to intermittent snowfall, Badrinath Highway beyond Hanuman Chatti was closed. Due to continuous snowfall the highway could not be opened on the second day also.
