Uttarakhand: Former High Court judge becomes NCLAT judge

Former judge of Uttarakhand High Court, Sharad Sharma, took oath as judge of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) on 19 February. Justice Sharad Sharma was sworn in as a judicial member of the Chennai Bench in the swearing-in ceremony held in the national capital Delhi.
The jurisdiction of Judge Sharad Sharma will be the Union Territory of the Southern Region including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh. He was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Chairman Justice Ashok Bhushan. Along with him, Yogesh Khanna of Delhi took oath who will look after the part of North India.

Justice Sharad Sharma worked as an advocate in Allahabad High Court and after the formation of Uttarakhand in the year 2000, he came to practice in Nainital High Court. He was elevated as judge in Nainital High Court in the year 2017. The justice retired from the High Court on December 29, 2023.
Now he has been given the responsibility as a judge of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT). Justice Sharad Sharma has homes in Allahabad and Nainital.
