Assam government abolished Muslim Marriage and Divorce Act, CM Dhami praised it, said this big thing on UCC

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached Haridwar today, where he reached Sant Ravidas temple and participated in the program organized on the birth anniversary of Sant Ravidas. Meanwhile, CM Dhami gave his reaction on the repeal of Muslim Marriage and Divorce Act in Assam. He said that everyone has the right to equal citizenship. Our Constitution allows this, so whatever the Assam government did, it was good. At the same time, regarding UCC, he said that people of all religions and castes have given their support to UCC, after which it has been brought.

Assam takes first step towards UCC

Let us tell you that Assam has taken the first step towards UCC. Himanta government has decided to abolish the Muslim Marriage and Divorce Act 1935. Due to which now all marriages in the state will be done under the Special Marriage Act. The government has said that we believe that this is also a big step towards ending child marriage. This proposal was approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma last Friday. Now all marriages and divorces in the state will take place under the Special Marriage Act.
