Guldar, who attacked nine people in 24 hours in Srinagar, killed, fired four, one bullet hit

The gangster who attacked five women and four forest workers at different places in Kirtinagar development block of Srinagar within 24 hours was killed in Maletha. The Forest Department team fired four shots to kill Guldar.

Around 9.30 am on Friday morning, Guldar had entered a room on the ground floor of a hotel near the MLA’s residence in Maletha. Meanwhile, Devprayag MLA Vinod Kandari was holding a meeting with forest workers and administration. 10 minutes after the meeting ended, MLA Kandari and others reached the spot. The MLA immediately called the Forest Department team to the spot. Guldar stayed in the room for about an hour, but the forest department was not able to traculnize him. After which Guldar ran away from the railway project construction site towards the fields.

After this, the Forest Department team again saw Guldar near the dumping zone. Here the team tried to tranquilize him, but he pounced on Forest Department SDO Anil Painuli and forest worker Mahavir Singh. Both were left bleeding in this attack. Other forest personnel somehow saved both of them and immediately took them to the base hospital. Guldar went and hid in the bushes. The Forest Department team took out Guldar from the bushes with the help of drone camera.

As soon as they came towards the fields, the deployed team fired four shots at Guldar. One of the bullets hit Guldar and he fell dead. The Forest Department team took possession of Guldar’s body and conducted its post-mortem. As soon as the news of Guldar’s death spread, people in Maletha and other places heaved a sigh of relief.

Guldar attacked two forest workers even at night

On Thursday, three women were attacked by thugs in Naithana, Kirtinagar and two women in Dang and Pandula villages. After which the Forest Department deployed teams at different places. At around 12 o’clock in the night, forest worker Guddu was attacked and injured on his leg in Maletha. While going to Rampur village, forest worker Tej Singh was also injured by Guldar. MLA Vinod Kandari also camped at the incident site in Maletha since morning and gave necessary directions to the forest workers.

Forest department team honored with cash amount of Rs 11 thousand

Devprayag MLA Vinod Kandari honored the Forest Department team which destroyed the Guldar by giving a cash amount of Rs 11,000. Along with this, he also honored DFO Narendranagar Amit Kanwar, SDM Kirtinagar Sonia Pant, Tehsildar Manvendra Batrwal, Forest Range Officer Buddhi Prakash, Magan Singh Rawat, Deputy Ranger Sukhdev Badoni, Bhim Singh, Suresh Painuli for making a better strategy. On this occasion, Abhishek Negi, Sanjay Rauthan and more than 50 forest workers from Kirtinagar, Maniknath and Shivpuri ranges were present.

AIIMS referred to SDO

Forest Department SDO Anil Panuli, who was injured in the attack by Guldar, has been referred to AIIMS Rishikesh. Medical Superintendent of Base Hospital, Dr. Ajay Vikram Singh told that the SDO has suffered internal injuries. When he had expressed his desire to go to AIIMS, he was referred. While forest worker Mahavir Singh was injured, he was given stitches. He said that out of the five women injured on Thursday, only one woman is admitted in the hospital. All the remaining have been discharged.

Here is the sequence of events

▪️Guldar was seen in the fields near the petrol pump in Maletha at 8.00 am.
▪️At 9.30 in the morning a thug entered the room on the ground floor of a hotel in Maletha.
▪️Around 10.30 in the morning, Guldar came out of the room and ran towards the fields.
–▪️SDO and a forest worker were attacked around 12.00 noon
▪️Guldar collapsed at 1.10 pm

Guldar attacked four forest personnel in Maletha. Whereas a day earlier he had also attacked many women. The department team was continuously patrolling to search for Guldar. First an attempt was made to tranquilize the Guldar, but when he attacked the forest personnel, they had to be fired upon. Due to which Guldar collapsed. Guldar’s age seems to be more than ten years.

The local administration including the forest department have worked hard to catch Guldar. Guldar has injured nine people in two days. The SDO of the forest department and another forest worker were also injured in the attack by Guldar. Keeping in view the public interest, the gangster had to be killed.
