World’s largest storage scheme started in India, PM Modi inaugurated it
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the world’s largest grain storage scheme in a program organized at Bharat Mandapam located at Pragati Maidan in the capital. He launched 11 PACS warehouses in 11 states for distribution of food grains and laid the foundation stone for construction of 500 PACS warehouses. Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah was also present in this program. Starting his address, Prime Minister Modi said that today Bharat Mandapam is witnessing another major achievement in the nectar journey of ‘Developed India’. Today we are moving forward in the direction of realizing the resolve that the country has taken for prosperity through cooperation.
Important role of cooperation in strengthening agriculture – PM Modi
He said that the power of cooperation has a huge role in strengthening the foundation of agriculture and farming, with this in mind we have formed a separate Ministry of Cooperation. Today we have launched the world’s largest storage scheme for our farmers. The Prime Minister said that under this scheme, thousands of warehouses and thousands of warehouses will be built in every corner of the country. Today the major work of computerization of 18 thousand PACS has also been completed.
Co-operation is not just a system but a feeling – PM Modi
He said that cooperation is not just a system, cooperation is a feeling, a spirit. These spirits of cooperation sometimes produce amazing results beyond the boundaries of businesses and resources. Co-operation can transform a simple subsistence system into huge industrial capacity. This is a proven way of rejuvenating the country’s economy, especially the rural and agricultural economy.
Priority given to women in cooperative policies
The Prime Minister said that today in the country too, farmers are involved in cooperatives in dairy and agriculture, among them crores of women are women. Seeing this potential of women, the government has also given them priority in policies related to cooperation.
