NATO ready to send troops to Ukraine

Two years have passed since the war between Russia and Ukraine. Military and economic assistance has been provided to Ukraine by the countries of the military organization ‘NATO’. Meanwhile, a big statement from the NATO chief has come out regarding sending NATO forces to Ukraine to fight the war with Russia. According to the information received, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told the media amid reports of some Western countries sending troops to Ukraine that the military alliance has no plans to send troops to the war-torn country. Stoltenberg said that NATO allies are providing effective support to Ukraine. “We have been doing this since 2014, and support has been increased since the Russian invasion, but there are no plans to send NATO combat troops to Ukraine,” he said.

Considering bilateral agreement

Slovakia’s Prime Minister Robert Fico said ahead of a visit to Paris on Monday that some countries are considering whether to reach a bilateral agreement to send troops to the war-torn country to help defend Ukraine from Russian aggression. Top officials from more than 20 countries are coming together in Paris to discuss options for increasing aid to Ukraine. Fico said his government had no plans to send Slovakian troops.

However, he refused to give more information about which countries are considering such an agreement. Speaker of the Slovak Parliament Peter Pellegrini said that Slovakia will not send troops to Ukraine.
