Pak court gives another blow to Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, found guilty in new corruption case

The troubles of former Prime Minister Imran Khan are not showing any signs of ending. A Pakistani court on Tuesday convicted Imran Khan and his wife Bushra for allegedly accepting land as bribe. Imran Khan and his wife have been convicted in the £190 million Al Qadir corruption case.

Action taken in corruption case of 190 million pounds

Judge Nasir Javed Rana conducted the hearing in Rawalpindi’s high-security Adiala Jail. The judge read out the chargesheet in the courtroom in the presence of Imran Khan and Bushra. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had launched a probe against Imran Khan and his wife in connection with the alleged acquisition of hundreds of canal lands in the name of Al Qadir University Trust. The investigation has revealed corruption worth 190 million pounds.

Recorded statements of 58 witnesses

According to Geo News report, during the hearing the court said that statements of 58 witnesses will be recorded in the case.

While framing charges against Khan, the judge asked him whether he was guilty or not. Answering this question, Imran Khan said, “Why should I read the charge sheet when I know what is written in it.

Let us tell you that Imran Khan has already been banned from participating in politics for 10 years.
