Citizen Amendment Act will be implemented in the country before Lok Sabha elections 2024

Is. The Model Code of Conduct comes into force as soon as the election schedule is announced. The election schedule can be announced in the next fortnight.
Sources said that CAA rules can be issued before the Model Code of Conduct comes into effect. Once the CAA rules are released, the Modi government will start granting Indian citizenship to persecuted non-Muslim migrants – Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis and Christians – who came from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan till December 31, 2014. CAA was passed in December 2019 and got the assent of the President.

More than a hundred people lost their lives during the demonstrations and in police action. The Home Ministry has prepared a portal for the convenience of the applicants and the entire process will be online.
