A strange case has come to light in Hamirpur district of Uttar Pradesh, where the wedding procession reached the bride’s doorstep a day before the wedding date. The bride’s family was surprised to see the wedding procession at their doorstep before the appointed day. The groom and many people from his family were present along with the wedding guests. When the wedding procession arrived, the bride’s family and villagers hurriedly made all the arrangements. This incident remains a topic of discussion in the area.

Actually, late resident of Sikrodi village of Hamirpur. The marriage of Rekha, daughter of Ramphal Anuragi, was fixed with Betaram of Para Purva village of Sadar Kotwali. The wedding date was kept for 27th February. But the wedding procession reached the bride’s doorstep a day earlier i.e. on 26th February. Everyone was stunned to see this.

Card printing error

Betaram (groom’s) sister-in-law Kaushilya told that in the card printing, the date of 26th February was printed instead of 27th. No one was very educated in his house. Therefore no one paid attention to the date and cards were distributed among the relatives. The relatives arrived before the scheduled date and on 26th February they reached Sikrodhi village with the wedding procession. After reaching there they came to know that the wedding date was fixed for 27th February.

Here, the girl’s family also got surprised and upset after seeing the wedding procession at the door a day earlier. However, with the help of the villagers, all the arrangements were made and the marriage was conducted as per the customs.

Preparations were made overnight to welcome the wedding procession

Village resident Ashok Kumar Pandey told that Rekha’s father has died. When the marriage procession came a day before, the whole program started going wrong. But all the people of the village came together and helped. Preparations were made overnight to welcome the wedding procession. Food was prepared by serving confectioners. After this, rituals like Dwarchar and Jaimal etc. also took place.

Rounds were taken on Tuesday morning and by evening Rekha was happily sent off. Both parties seemed satisfied with this and the honor of the village was also saved. At present, this marriage is in discussion around.
