Uttarakhand: State’s economy took a big leap under the leadership of CM Dhami, Dhami said this is a proof of good governance and financial discipline

Under the able leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the economy of the state has taken a big leap. This fact has come to the fore in the Economic Survey Report for the year 2023-24, which clearly shows that the growth rate of the state has been 7.58 percent, which is higher than the national average. The size of the economy has increased to Rs 346.20 thousand crore in the year 2023-24, whereas in 2022-23 its size was Rs 303.78 thousand crore. Per capita income in Uttarakhand has also increased by 12.64 percent. Per capita income has increased to Rs 2 lakh 60 thousand 201. In the year 2022-23, this income was Rs 2 lakh 30 thousand 994.
It is clear from the economic survey that the secondary sector has contributed the maximum 46.84 percent to the state’s economy. The tertiary sector i.e. service sector has been at second place. The service sector has contributed 43.17 percent to the economy. Whereas primary sector i.e. agriculture has contributed 9.99 percent to the economy. After the state came into existence on November 09, 2000, the tax collection received in the year 2000-2001 was Rs 233 crore, which has increased almost 52 times to Rs 12,028.68 crore (including compensation amount of Rs 2,135.60 crore) by the year 2022-23. In the year 2023-24, the total revenue collection till the month of December, 2023 has been Rs 8,496.82 crore (including compensation amount of Rs 476.62 crore).
There has also been a huge reduction in the unemployment rate in Uttarakhand. The unemployment rate in Uttarakhand was 8.4 percent in 2021-22, which came down to 4.9 percent in 2022-23. There has also been a huge decline in multidimensional poverty. In the year 2015-16, the rate of multidimensional poverty in Uttarakhand was 17.67 percent, which decreased to 9.67 percent in the year 2019-21. In this span of five years, a total of 9,17,299 people of the state have come out of multidimensional poverty. Not only this, the intensity of multidimensional poverty in the state was 44.35 percent in 2015-16, which has decreased to 41.99 percent in 2019-21. The target is to create 125000 Lakhpati Didis in Uttarakhand. On the contrary, 68 thousand 579 Lakhpati Didis have been created so far.
The Chief Minister has said that the progress shown in the economic survey of the state’s financial condition and development progress gives a glimpse of the overall development of the state. This is also a clear proof of good governance and financial discipline. The Chief Minister said that this will also give impetus to our efforts to include Uttarakhand among the leading states of the country by 2025. The basic mantra of simplification, solution, solution and satisfaction has made the path to solving public problems and effective implementation of schemes easier. This will also be inspiring in achieving our resolve of building a developed and ideal Uttarakhand.
