BCCI will organize this big tournament after 6 years, it will start after WPL

The Board of Control for Cricket in India is giving more emphasis on domestic cricket. Recently, when some international players ignored domestic cricket, the BCCI Secretary had clearly said that they may have to face consequences for ignoring domestic cricket. BCCI is not only serious about men’s domestic cricket but also wants to strengthen domestic cricket especially red ball cricket in women’s cricket. BCCI has taken a big decision regarding this. BCCI is bringing back the women’s red ball cricket tournament after six years. BCCI is going to organize the Senior Inter Zonal Tournament in Pune from March 28.

BCCI has taken this decision to strengthen the Indian women’s cricket team in Tests. The women’s team plays very few test matches. BCCI obviously wants to increase this number and hence it is emphasizing on red ball cricket in domestic cricket. Team India recently played test matches against Australia and England.

The last tournament was held in 2018

This women’s interzonal tournament in domestic cricket was last held in 2018. This time this tournament will be played again. Maharashtra Cricket Association will host this tournament. Teams from East, West, North, South, Central and Northeast will participate in this tournament. These teams will also play five matches together. The semi-final matches of this tournament will be played on April 3. After this the final will be held on April 9. The tournament will be played after the Women’s Premier League. The Women’s Premier League will end on March 17. According to the report of Cricbuzz, these matches will last for three days. BCCI’s effort is to provide a platform to domestic women cricketers for multi-day matches.
