Uttarakhand: Chief Electoral Officer held a meeting of the Excise Department, gave instructions to compulsorily upload daily action report on ESMS portal

Chief Electoral Officer Dr. B.V.R.C. Purushottam held a meeting with Excise Department officials at the Secretariat on Friday. The Chief Electoral Officer instructed Excise Commissioner Dr. Prashant Arya to increase monitoring of sale and seizure of liquor. While giving instructions to install CCTV etc. for monitoring in the check post, he also gave instructions to provide daily reports to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer.

The Chief Electoral Officer has instructed the Excise Department officials to compulsorily upload the progress report of the action taken against illegal liquor in all the districts on the “Election Seizure Management System” (ESMS) portal every day. Chief Electoral Officers have directed that the sudden increase in liquor sales should be monitored by analyzing the daily sales in liquor shops for the last two years. He gave strict instructions to complete the training programs of excise officers and nodal officers in the next 2-3 days. While giving instructions to ensure tracing of vehicles, he said that there should be continuous cooperation with the police department.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Vijay Kumar Jogdande, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Namami Bansal, Pratap Shah, Excise Commissioner Prashant Arya and officials of the Excise Department were present.
