Uttarakhand: Air ambulance will be arranged for emergency situations during voting in Lok Sabha elections
On Saturday, the Chief Electoral Officer held a meeting with the State Nodal Officers. He instructed the departments to prepare a detailed action plan to conduct safe and fair elections. Along with this, the district and state control rooms were immediately activated and asked to start dry runs.
Chief Electoral Officer took a meeting
Chief Electoral Officer Dr BVRC Purushottam held a review meeting with State Nodal Officers of various departments for General Elections 2024 at the Secretariat on Saturday. Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Purushottam has instructed all the nodal officers to prepare a detailed action plan while completing the duties related to their department with responsibility. The Chief Electoral Officer directed that the dry run should be started by immediately activating the district and state control rooms.
Air ambulance will be arranged during voting
The Chief Electoral Officer has given detailed instructions from the Health Department regarding providing medical facilities to the polling workers. He instructed the nodal officer of the Health Department to prepare the first aid kit in time for the first aid of the personnel deployed on polling duty. Apart from this, instructions were also given to make arrangements for air ambulance for emergency situations.
Liquor monitoring team should be formed at the district level
The Chief Electoral Officer has instructed the Excise Department and the Police Department to upload regular reports on the Election Seizure Management System (ESMS) for enforcement action. Police personnel should also be trained at the police station level regarding ESMS.
Apart from this, Circle Inspectors of Excise Department should also be onboarded on this portal and login IDs should be prepared. The Chief Electoral Officer has instructed the Excise Department to increase monitoring by forming Liquor Monitoring Team LMT at the district level.
Instructions to ensure 100% voting
The Chief Electoral Officer has expected all the State Nodal Officers to ensure 100 percent voting of all the personnel involved in polling duty of the respective departments. He has especially given instructions to all the personnel deployed on polling duty and all the vehicle drivers to ensure 100% voting. Along with this, he has instructed the Nodal Officer Transport Department to prepare and submit a detailed plan for 100 percent voting of the vehicle drivers deployed on election duty.
