Uttarakhand: Gairsain was made Gair, now demanded to make Doon the permanent capital
It has been 23 years since Uttarakhand became a state but Uttarakhand has still not got a permanent capital. Even though Gairsain has been made the summer capital, the government has not moved from Gairsain for even a single day till date. But now the Congress MLA has demanded to make Dehradun the permanent capital. After which once again the market of discussions has become heated.
Dehradun should be made the permanent capital
Even after 23 years of formation of Uttarakhand state, the solution for permanent capital has not been found. While Dehradun is the temporary capital of Uttarakhand, it has also been declared the non-summer capital. But the government has not run with impunity even for a single day. Amidst all this, the Congress MLA from Kichha, who has also been a minister in the past, has demanded to make Dehradun the permanent capital. Along with this, he has also said that he will support the government’s decision if it makes Dehradun the permanent capital.
Tilak Raj Behad demanded
Congress MLA Tilak Raj Behad is giving many arguments for making Dehradun the permanent capital. It is also true that efforts are going on to build a new assembly building in Raipur, Dehradun. Although no party openly talks about making Dehradun the permanent capital, even today the matter of permanent capital has not been resolved even after construction of two assembly buildings in Uttarakhand. If the assembly building is built in Raipur, Dehradun, then Dehradun will be considered the permanent capital.
Congress is a confused party – BJP
Contrary to the way public sentiments are with making Gairsain the permanent capital, even the Bharatiya Janata Party is not able to digest the statement of making Dehradun the permanent capital. This is the reason why BJP leaders are calling Congress a confused party.
BJP leaders say that when Trivendra Rawat’s government had declared Gairsain as the summer capital, Congress had demanded to make Gairsain the permanent capital. But now Congress MLAs are demanding to make Dehradun the permanent capital. BJP leaders say that Congress should first form an opinion regarding the capital and only then give a statement.
