The woman died on 23 December. After the death of the woman, the stepfather started doing wrong things with the girl. Even after refusing, the accused was not agreeing. Due to public shame and fear of the accused, the girl had been silently tolerating the atrocities of her stepfather.

I gathered courage and told my aunt

On Saturday night the accused raped the girl again. After this, the victim gathered courage and called her aunt, a resident of Karhal, and told her about the actions of her stepfather. Aunty reached Elau police station with the victim and filed a complaint. The police registered a case against the accused stepfather under POCSO Act and other sections including rape and arrested the accused. The accused arrested on Monday was sent to jail.

ASP Urban Rahul Mithas said that after registering a case on the complaint of the girl, the accused stepfather has been arrested and sent to jail. The victim has been medically examined. Statements will be recorded in the court.
