Uttarakhand: ‘Election Seizure Management System’ will be implemented for the first time in Lok Sabha elections, training is being given to employees
The Election Commission remains active to prevent illegal use of cash, liquor, drugs and other illegal materials during elections in Uttarakhand. During this period, such illegal material is also confiscated by the Election Commission. To ease this process of the Commission, for the first time the Election Commission of India is going to implement the Election Forfeiture Management System across the country. Under this, for the first time in Uttarakhand also, the work of training employees under this system has been started. Following the instructions of the Election Commission of India, the State Election Commission is training its employees to use this system related to on-the-spot seizure of illegal materials.
Earlier, the election forfeiture management system was implemented as a pilot program in the recently held by-elections of five assembly constituencies. Seeing its better results during this period, it is now being implemented in the entire country in the Lok Sabha elections. This system is being implemented for the first time in Uttarakhand. Therefore, employees are being given training and information about this. Besides, the employees are also understanding about the software related to this system.
Under the Election Seizure Management System, the formalities of seizing illegal material can be completed on the spot. Earlier, to seize any illegal material, one had to go to the nearest police station or post and complete the formalities. But this will no longer be required and online illegal content can be seized.
It is believed that with the implementation of the Election Seizure Management System, on one hand, the employees engaged in election duty will be freed from the difficult process in case of illegal items being seized, while on the other hand, this process will be made more transparent. Due to this, illegal material will be seized on the spot and the possibilities of any kind of rigging or irregularities will be eliminated. Apart from this, its entire data will be available online and to run this entire system, a software has been prepared which the employees are learning through training. Data of online content can be stored in this software and mutual coordination can also be done through it.
