The country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is present in Kolkata today to inaugurate the country’s first underwater metro train. PM Modi has inaugurated the second phase of the country’s first rapid rail in Ghaziabad with the help of video conferencing from Kolkata itself. During this, he also flagged off the Namo Bharat train. Let us tell you that this program of RRTS is taking place at Muradnagar Rapid Rail Station in Ghaziabad. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Ghaziabad MP General VK Singh and Meerut MP Rajendra Aggarwal were present in this program being held in Muradnagar. Apart from this, all the officers of NCRTC were also present in the program.

How many kilometers is the second phase?

The second phase of RRTS which the Prime Minister has inaugurated today i.e. on March 6, 2023, is of total length of 17 kilometers. There will be a total of 3 stations in this 17 kilometer route. The names of these stations are Muradnagar, Modinagar South and Modinagar North. Let us inform that Namo Bharat services running on Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor will now run uninterrupted on a total section of 34 kilometers. In October last year, Prime Minister Modi had given the green signal to run the train on the 17 km long priority section.

If we include today’s phase also, then trains will run without any problem on the 34 km section of the country’s first RRTS corridor connecting Delhi to Meerut. There will be a total of 8 stations in this 34 kilometer section. Out of these 8 stations, 3 have been inaugurated today.

What will be the benefit of RRTS?

This route is being built under the PM Gatishakti National Master Plan. Through this route, RRTS stations are being integrated with airports, railway stations, metro stations, ISBTs and city bus stops. Its main objectives are to decentralize economic activities, improve access to employment, education and health, and reduce traffic as well as air pollution.

Let us tell you that after this entire route is ready, there will be 1 hour time left in traveling between Delhi and Meerut. RRTS is a state-of-the-art rail based transportation system. The operating speed of Namo Bharat trains running through it is 160 km per hour.
