In Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh, a man allegedly poured petrol on his wife and burnt her to death after she refused to drink alcohol. Police sources said that while trying to save the woman, her mother-in-law also suffered serious burns. Hearing the woman’s scream, the neighbors who came somehow extinguished the fire and informed the police about the matter. After the incident the accused fled from the spot. He told that Munish Saxena, resident of Naithua village of Gujriya police station area, is addicted to drinking and he often used to beat his wife Shanno (40).

According to the police, even on Thursday night, when Shanno stopped Munish from drinking more alcohol, he got angry and took out petrol from his motorcycle, sprinkled petrol on Shanno and set her on fire with a matchstick. After suffering for some time, Shanno died. On receiving the information, the police arrived and first admitted Shanno’s mother-in-law Munni Devi to Bilsi Health Center, from where she was referred to the district hospital. Senior Superintendent of Police Alok Priyadarshi said that a team has been deployed to search for the murderer Munish. The woman’s mother-in-law also got burnt in the incident. He has been admitted to the district hospital.
Live-in woman commits suicide
Let us tell you that earlier on Thursday, a 32-year-old woman living with her ‘live-in partner’ and two children in Nawada village of Sector 58 police station area of Noida, allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the fan in the house on Thursday. Police gave this information. According to the police, there was a fight between the woman and her live-in partner. Inspector Amit Kumar, in-charge of Police Station Sector 58, said that Pushpa (32) was living in Nawada village with her three children and ‘live-in partner’ Arjun, her live-in partner also has two children. He told that today on Thursday, Pushpa committed suicide by hanging herself from a fan at home. The station in-charge said that the body has been taken into custody and sent for postmortem.
