Keeping this in mind, on the occasion of “International Women’s Day-2024”, a program was organized by the National Health Mission Uttarakhand with the aim of empowering women and promoting and improving maternal health. National Health Mission was organized by Maternal Health Section of Uttarakhand based on the theme “Healthy Woman, Healthy Child”.

In this celebration organized at the State National Health Mission office, the Director Medical Health and Family Welfare, Director NHM, all the officers in charge and USAID team, all the women frontline workers contributing to the NHM unit, apart from the dignitaries and all the male and female employees of the office were present. The women of hilly areas are also not lagging behind, they are playing an important role in rural economy and infrastructure building by enriching their families by doing business like agriculture, animal husbandry, tailoring, mushroom production etc. as well as by generating employment and strengthening the financial base. Dr. Nitin Arora, Senior Advisor, Maternal Health contributed to the program by highlighting the multifaceted dimensions of maternal health programmes. To engage and educate attendees, they conducted an insightful question-and-answer session that discussed less-discussed aspects of women’s health and maternal well-being. National Health Mission, Uttarakhand’s International Women’s Day celebrations showcased the organisation’s commitment to recognising, appreciating and empowering women at every level. Recognizing the vital role of women frontline workers and emphasizing the integral relationship between healthy women and healthy children, National Health Mission Uttarakhand reiterated its dedication to promote maternal well-being across the state.
