Uttarakhand: Bhatt made a claim on the implementation of CAA, said – thousands of refugees living in the state will get relief after the law comes into force, expressed gratitude to PM

Expressing happiness over the implementation of CAA, BJP has expressed gratitude to PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on behalf of Devbhumi residents. State President Mahendra Bhatt said that the BJP government, which runs on the principles of cultural nationalism, has today fulfilled this one promise made to the people. Providing refuge to religiously persecuted people from neighboring countries is constitutionally valid and part of our Atithi Devo Bhava tradition.
Responding to the release of the notification of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, Bhatt said that on the basis of this law, India will provide asylum to those who are being persecuted on religious grounds from the three neighboring countries Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh. He said that under this, those seeking asylum in India before December 31, 2014 will be given citizenship. In which minority communities include Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians who were victims of discrimination on the basis of religion in their countries. For decades, millions of these people are forced to live a hellish life in different parts of the country due to lack of basic rights. To address their problems, BJP and Modi government have shown sensitivity and removed the legal hurdles in their citizenship.
He said that many misconceptions have been spread regarding this Citizenship Amendment Act that it is a law to grant citizenship. Therefore, due to its implementation, CAA will not lead to loss of citizenship of any Indian citizen, irrespective of religion. This law is only for those people who have suffered oppression for years and who have no other place in the world except India. He clarified that the Constitution of India gives us the right to provide fundamental rights to religious refugees from a humanitarian point of view and to provide citizenship to such refugees.
Today Modi has been rescuing Indian citizens from all over the world from trouble. In the same way, it is our responsibility to give citizenship rights to refugees and to protect their cultural, linguistic and social identity. With this amendment in the law, they will get rights like economic, business, free movement, buying property etc.
He said, due to the Covid pandemic, there was a delay in implementing the Citizenship Amendment Act. But now by implementing it we have once again proved that we fulfill the promises we make. After its coming into existence, thousands of refugees living in Uttarakhand are also going to get relief. For which he expressed gratitude to PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on behalf of the people of the state.
