Uttarakhand: CM Dhami’s announcement – Upanal building will be made available free of cost

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Uttarakhand Ex-Servicemen Welfare Corporation Ltd. (Upnal) has provided employment to more than 25,000 people in the state and has established an organization to ensure the welfare of ex-servicemen and their dependents in the last 20 years. Has done a commendable job of upgrading itself. He also congratulated the officers and employees of Upanal for discharging their responsibilities well while working in mission mode. The Chief Minister advised Upanal to become recognized as a model in the field of innovation in the country. He announced that land will be provided free of cost in Dehradun for the headquarters building of UPLAN. He asked to make this building in mountain style with modern facilities.

While addressing the 20th foundation day celebration of Uttarakhand Ex-Servicemen Welfare Corporation Limited at Garhi Cantt, Dehradun, the Chief Minister said that he himself is the son of a soldier. Grew up in a military family. He has closely seen and understood the problems and challenges of ex-servicemen and their families. Therefore, when our government came, we decided to give the incentive allowance given to ex-servicemen every month instead of three months, 25,000 ex-servicemen are directly benefiting from this decision.
He said that our government is giving an incentive amount of about Rs 5000 per month to ex-servicemen with less than 10 years of experience and about Rs 6000 per month to ex-servicemen with more than 10 years of experience. Along with this, we have made an unprecedented increase in the lump sum and annuity amount given to soldiers decorated with Param Vir Chakra and Mention in Despatches in the Army.
He said that a grand military shrine is being constructed in the memory of the martyrs of the state. Respect for soldiers is paramount for us. He said that a lump sum ex-gratia grant of Rs 10 lakh has been allowed from the Uttarakhand Martyr Fund to the brave women and dependents of soldiers martyred in various wars and internal security of the state. The government also provides housing assistance of Rs 2 lakh to war widows and war disabled soldiers. Similarly, Uttarakhand is one of the few states providing exemption facility in stamp duty, where serving and ex-servicemen have been allowed 25 percent exemption in stamp duty on the purchase of permanent property worth Rs 25 lakh. Along with this, a grant of up to Rs 1 lakh is being given for the marriage of daughters of military widows and orphan daughters of ex-servicemen. A grant of Rs 1 lakh is being given for the remarriage of military widows.
He said that the children of ex-servicemen and military widows in the state are being provided scholarships for postgraduate and professional education from class 1 onwards. Our government is also working on the proposal to open petrol pumps and metal chains for ex-servicemen. The entire work of running these centers will be done by ex-servicemen and their dependents. In which at least 50 employment opportunities are expected to be created at one centre. Our government has been working with full commitment for the upliftment of soldiers and ex-servicemen since the beginning.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is continuously trying for the upliftment of soldiers and ex-servicemen. One Rank – One Pension in the country was started by Modi ji. Due to which the ex-servicemen not only got financial strength but also protected their self-respect. For this he also expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister. The Chief Minister said that in the times to come, our government will continue to make continuous efforts for the welfare of the serving soldiers as well as the ex-servicemen and their dependents.
He said that our government was the first to bring Uniform Civil Code in the country. We have implemented the country’s toughest anti-copying law in the state, incidents like paper leaks have been curbed and all examinations are being conducted with complete transparency.
The Chief Minister said that today under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the dream of taking trains to the mountains in Uttarakhand is going to come true. Running a train through the inaccessible mountains from Rishikesh to Karnaprayag is like a dream come true. Work on Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway line is going on at a fast pace. Survey work on Tanakpur-Bageshwar railway line has also been completed and work will start on this also soon. In this series, six stations of Uttarakhand are being redeveloped by the Prime Minister under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The operation of Vande Bharat train between Dehradun and Anand Vihar this year is a big achievement for us. Now soon we are going to get the gift of operating Vande Bharat train from Dehradun to Lucknow-Ayodhya and Varanasi also.
The Chief Minister said that MOUs worth Rs 3.50 lakh crore were signed in the Global Investment Conference organized in the state. Of these, projects worth Rs 71 thousand crore have been ground so far. The Chief Minister said that the dreams of Global Investor Summit are coming true in the state. This will provide employment and self-employment opportunities.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, Secretary Deependra Chaudhary, Chairman Upnal Major General (Retd) Sameer Sabrawal, MD Brigadier (Retd) J.N.S.
