Uttarakhand: The third meeting of Congress CEC for Lok Sabha elections 2024 also remained inconclusive, candidates could not be declared, now meeting again on March 15

It has become a difficult task for Congress to decide its candidate for the Lok Sabha elections in Uttarakhand. After successive meetings, Congress is not able to finalize the list of candidates and their parliamentary seats. The meeting of the Congress Central Election Committee held in Delhi late on Monday night turned out to be inconclusive. Now the meeting has been called again on March 15.
Before the meeting of the Congress Central Election Committee held in Delhi late on Monday night, it was being speculated that soon after the meeting, Congress would release the list of its candidates for the Lok Sabha elections for many states including Uttarakhand. But the meeting turned out to be inconclusive. Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Ambika Soni as well as state in-charge Shailja Kumari were also present in the meeting. State President Karan Mahara from Uttarakhand, Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya and Chakrata MLA Pritam Singh were also present in the meeting. Karan Mahara was continuously attending meetings with senior party leaders in Delhi for the last two days regarding the five Lok Sabha seats of Uttarakhand.
It is being told that the names of the leaders were sent by the party to the panel. Many of those leaders are also refusing to contest elections. In such a situation, the party is taking every step carefully. This was the third meeting when even after some kind of decision was taken, the decision has not come out. Now it is being told that on March 15, the party will hold another meeting to announce the candidates. However, some party leaders also say that Congress will release its list after finalizing the names of the remaining two candidates of BJP.
According to Congress spokesperson Garima Dasauni, Congress will field only experienced and popular leaders. Which leader can defeat BJP in the state? Brainstorming is going on regarding this. There are many leaders who can give competition to BJP on one seat. Soon the Congress party will decide its candidates for all five Lok Sabha seats. On the other hand, there is also information that the party is considering betting on Pradeep Tamta from Almora and Yashpal Arya from Nainital.
