4 IPS transferred in Uttarakhand, Pauri SSP attached to Dehradun Police Headquarters
Lok Sabha elections 2024 can be announced any time. The code of conduct will be imposed as soon as the elections are announced. Transfer-posting cannot take place during the code of conduct. That is why before that the state government wants to complete the work of transfer and posting of officers and employees. In this sequence, four major transfers and postings took place in the police department on Thursday.
SSP Shweta Choubey leaves Pauri
Pauri Garhwal’s Senior Superintendent of Police Shweta Choubey has been removed from the district. He has been transferred to Dehradun. Now Shweta Chaubey has been attached to Dehradun Police Headquarters. In place of Shweta Chaubey, Lokeshwar Singh has been sent as SSP of Pauri district. Lokeshwar Singh was till now the SP of Pithoragarh district. In a way, this is the promotion of Lokeshwar Singh. Actually Pauri district is considered a VVIP district. From here many politicians and officers are serving in the Center and the State.
Transfer of Chamoli SP
Chamoli Superintendent of Police Rekha Yadav has also been transferred. Rekha Yadav has been sent to Pithoragarh. She will be the captain of Pithoragarh Police in place of Lokeshwar Singh. Pithoragarh is a frontier district. Its border is with neighboring country Nepal. Therefore, Pithoragarh district is considered sensitive from the point of view of Maoists and smuggling. In place of Rekha Yadav, Sarvesh Panwar has been made the Superintendent of Police i.e. SP of Chamoli. Sarvesh Panwar was till now handling the responsibility of SP Traffic Dehradun. There is a possibility that the list of more transfers may come in the Uttarakhand Police Department in a day or two.
