Uttarakhand: Chief Electoral Officer took review meeting of State Core Committee of SVEEP, gave instructions to connect disabled voters of the state with Saksham App

Chief Electoral Officer Dr. B.V.R.C. Purushottam held a meeting of the State Core Committee and State Screening Committee of SVEEP in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha general elections at the Secretariat on Friday. On this occasion, documents were also handed over to various institutions. In the meeting, the Chief Electoral Officer took detailed information about the campaigns being run by all the departments for maximum election preparations and voter public awareness. In the meeting, the Chief Electoral Officer instructed all the departments to fulfill their targets in a time bound manner with responsibility.
The Chief Electoral Officer directed the Social Welfare Department to run a door to door campaign to make the disabled voters of the state aware of the facilities like booth level assistant, wheelchair, dandi-kandi through Saksham app. He said that 100 percent disabled voters of the state should be connected to the Saksham app. Apart from this, instructions were given to make wide publicity for postal wallet application to voters above 85 years of age. He instructed the Transport Department to prepare a list of all the drivers and conductors engaged in polling duty and ensure 100 percent voting.
The CEO directed the Public Works Department to ensure provision of ramps etc. for wheelchairs used by disabled voters at all polling booths.
After this, the Chief Electoral Officer also took a meeting with network service providers in the state. He instructed to provide network to the shadow area polling stations as soon as possible in view of the networks like BSNL, Airtel, Jio and Vi etc. He instructed the District Magistrates to provide complete information including latitude and longitude of the polling stations falling in the shadow areas to the service providers.
On this occasion, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Vijay Kumar Jogdande, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Pratap Shah and officials of various departments were present.
