Uttarakhand: Government is serious on migration, real reasons will be studied in detail

Along with thinking about the migration taking place in the state, a better study will be done to know the real reasons. In fact, the seventh meeting of the Rural Development and Migration Prevention Commission was held in the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. During the meeting, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave instructions to prepare action plans on a large scale to increase the livelihood of the people living in the hilly areas.

During this, CM Dhami said that the state government is promoting small and medium industries in the hilly areas. So that the livelihood of the people living in the hilly areas can increase. Along with this, education and health facilities as well as industry, tourism, agriculture and horticulture are being promoted in the hilly areas. Those people who are doing reverse migration in the hilly areas of the state and are connecting other people with self-employment, such people will be encouraged. The government has approved the Van Panchayat rules. In such a situation, now better work will be done in the fields of herbal production, tree plantation, water harvesting, forest fire prevention, ecotourism and self-employment will also be available to the people in these areas.

Along with this, instructions were also given to the officials that in collaboration with the Forest Panchayat and related departments, emphasis should be laid on reducing the damage caused to the fields by wild animals. Due to which the availability of products for House of Himalaya will increase. CM Dhami said that efforts also need to be made towards making Uttarakhand a wedding destination. The beauty of the state attracts people from all over the country and the world. In such a situation, the state government is going to prepare a detailed policy for wedding destination. During the meeting, Vice Chairman of Rural Development and Migration Prevention Commission, Dr. SS Negi said that the Commission has so far submitted 21 reports to the state government.

In which various recommendations have been made related to strengthening social and economic development and reducing migration in all the districts of the state. The Commission has also submitted the second survey report on the situation of migration in the state to the government. In which the Commission organized workshops at various places to promote self-employment. Which includes Pauri, Chamoli, Haldwani, Champawat, Tehri, Rudraprayag, Udham Singh Nagar, Pithoragarh, Dehradun and Haridwar.

In the meeting, the members of the Commission told that on their behalf, talks were held with the local residents in the areas of Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts bordering the India-China international border. Besides, discussions were also held with district level officials regarding self-employment schemes run by various departments. Along with considering the suggestions in the presence of the Assembly Committee on Migration, meetings have also been held with the Education Department, Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Uttarakhand Horticulture, Forestry University and other universities.
